Signatures should only show up once per a page. However, if you update your signature, it updates on every post that displays yuor signature. Not just the new posts.

It's only until you refresh the page again. The reason you see it twice is because quick reply does not re-load the entire page, it only appends. Since the page is not fully reloaded, vbulliten doesn't know that your signature was already displayed. As sony likes to say.... Working as intended!
